Welcome to the Seattle-East Timor Relief Association Website
info@timorrelief.org

Please join us on July 12th!

The Board of SETRA would like to invite you to come picnic and share your photos, video, handcrafts and stories of your friends and/or families in Timor Leste. This is a chance to gather with others who are interested in your experiences, and have a context to put it into because of their own. The Board will also share information about the upcoming conference to be held in Seattle in November 2009 that will bring together scholars, activists and afficionados from all over the country, along with Timorese nationals.

Sunday, July 12 from 2PM to dusk
In the backyard of Joe Szwaja and Debra Morrison
at 2021 NE 75th St  Seattle WA 98115

Bring Potluck Food to share and memories of your connection to Timor Leste
We have video, audio and DVD equipment to use

This summer is the 10th anniversary of the referendum that brought the triumph of independence and the tragedy of destruction and bloodshed to the people of this tiny island, and we know many of you have great fondness and deep feelings of solidarity with the people whose struggles have inspired us for many years. We are hoping you will join us to celebrate our own experiences, and the spirit of the people of Timor Leste.

We hope to see there!!

The East Timor and Indonesia Action Network has selected Seattle as the site for the upcoming conference:
East Timor in the 21st Century: Global Rights and Responsibilities
November 13-15, 2009
See http://www.etan.org/action/2009/11conference.htm for more information.
